Edukasi Pemanfaatan Limbah Minyak Bekas kepada Siswa SMK Muhammadiyah Sempor sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Kesadaran Lingkungan dan Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Kreatif

Used cooking oil and waste lubricating oil are significant environmental pollutants commonly found in vocational school workshops and households. This community service activity aimed to provide students of SMK Muhammadiyah Sempor, Kebumen, Central Java, with education on the utilization of waste oil, to enhance environmental awareness and foster creative economic skills. The method used was participatory education consisting of counseling sessions, interactive demonstrations, and hands-on practice in recycling waste oil into useful products such as lubricants, fuels, and handmade soap. A total of 30 students participated in this activity. Results indicated a significant increase in students' knowledge and awareness regarding waste oil management, with pre-test and post-test scores improving by an average of 38%. Students were also able to produce simple products from waste oil independently. The program demonstrated that integrated vocational education on waste utilization can effectively build environmental consciousness and entrepreneurial skills among students. Future activities should expand the scope of materials and include collaboration with local industry partners.
