Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Digital Payment Accessibility and Cybersecurity on Consumptive Financial Behavior through Financial Risk Perception as a mediating variable among Millennial and Generation Z employees in Balikpapan City. This study employed a quantitative explanatory research approach. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that Digital Payment Accessibility has a positive and significant effect on Financial Risk Perception and Consumptive Financial Behavior. Cybersecurity has a positive and significant effect on Financial Risk Perception but does not significantly affect Consumptive Financial Behavior directly. Financial Risk Perception significantly influences Consumptive Financial Behavior and mediates the relationships between Digital Payment Accessibility, Cybersecurity, and Consumptive Financial Behavior. These findings show that digital consumption behavior among younger employees is shaped not only by technological accessibility and system security, but also by psychological factors related to financial risk perception.
