Abstract

The success of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) depends on the effectiveness of its distribution system in ensuring that meals are delivered to beneficiary schools on time, in the correct quantity, and in accordance with established quality standards. This study aims to evaluate the distribution system at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of Serang Regency by applying a Lean Logistics approach through the integration of Process Activity Mapping (PAM) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). A quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed using data collected through field observations, interviews, documentation, and operational distribution records. The findings indicate that 71.43% of distribution activities were classified as Necessary Non-Value-Added (NNVA), while only 28.57% were categorized as Value-Added (VA) activities, indicating the dominance of supporting activities prior to distribution. The Current State Value Stream Mapping identified four major sources of waste, namely waiting, transportation, motion, and overprocessing. Based on these findings, a Future State Value Stream Mapping was developed by proposing standardized package inspection, route-based distribution grouping, synchronization of packing and loading activities, and workspace reorganization. These improvements are expected to reduce non-value-added activities, streamline the distribution process, and enhance the operational efficiency of the Free Nutritious Meal Program. The findings provide practical guidance for evaluating and improving food distribution systems based on Lean Logisticsprinciples.
