Abstract

Partner schools in Malang City (SDN 1 Klojen, SMP Salahuddin, SMPN 3, and SMA Islam) involved in the "Disaster-Safe School" program face a gap between the standards of School Health Units (UKS) and the completeness of First Aid (P3K) facilities with the actual needs for disaster management. The readiness of UKS and P3K is crucial as the frontline in disaster mitigation and response within the educational environment; therefore, an in-depth evaluation is necessary to support the effectiveness of the Disaster-Safe School program. This community service aims to analyze the standards of UKS facilities and the completeness of P3K equipment to support disaster management cycles in partner schools. The method used was a descriptive cross-sectional survey conducted in November 2023 at four partner schools, involving a research team and school representatives using a structured checklist. The analysis results show that the average availability of UKS facilities reached 72.58%; however, critical items such as dedicated UKS toilets were only 25%, and stretchers were available at 50%. The completeness of P3K kits was lower, with an average of only 36.90%, and vital items such as eye wash cups and 100 ml aquadest were unavailable (0%) in all schools. These findings indicate the need to improve standards and equipment completeness to optimize disaster preparedness.
